This innovative team building program combines Bulgarian folk dance with visual art: participants dance and leave footprints of their steps, which turn into a unique graphic figure. The program highlights how every person can take part in creating a shared culture, and the steps can be digitized into a poster or T-shirts for the team. This emotional and creative experience uses the power of folklore to strengthen team bonds with a big dose of humor and shared energy.

The program is an interactive journey through the different folklore regions of Bulgaria, combining the learning of traditional rhythms and dance steps with fascinating stories about regional customs. By performing the dances and taking on team challenges, employees get to know the temperament and spirit of each part of the country. This dynamic format strengthens team bonds and brings the team together, inspiring it toward new professional achievements.

This workshop begins with an engaging folklore talk about the types of ritual bread, their characteristics and their role in various folk celebrations. Participants then move on to kneading and shaping bread by hand – individually or in teams, followed by an exhibition and the announcement of winners. The experience can end with a shared meal of the freshly baked bread alongside other traditional Bulgarian dishes such as banitsa, kachamak and turshiya.

The program opens with an educational talk on the history, making and traditional use of the clay baking dish (podnitsa) in the Bulgarian household. In the hands-on part, participants work individually or in teams to shape clay vessels by hand, competing for the most masterful podnitsa. The creative session ends with an exhibition of the clay pieces and the shared breaking of a warm, freshly baked loaf.

This program is designed to create an exceptionally lively, joyful and festive atmosphere with direct guest participation. It features a highly energetic drum dance, a striking Shopi dance, and a playful donkey game in which two dancers transform into a donkey and tease the guests and the newlyweds. Next comes the jug game, with the best man, the groom and another male guest taking part, and for the finale, folk songs performed by a singer and a shared horo that everyone joins.

This option offers a complete, authentic folklore experience for your event with entirely live music. It includes all the attractive elements, songs and games of the first option. The dancers and singer are joined by four musicians who perform everything live on authentic folk instruments: gaida (bagpipe), gadulka, tapan (drum) and tambura.

The nestinari fire-dancing ritual is one of the most ancient, mystical and captivating traditions in Bulgarian folklore, preserved through the centuries. At Taratanci events and shows, participants learn about the history, symbolism and spiritual meaning of the fire dance, traditionally performed for health and protection.

The highlight is the authentic recreation of the ritual to the powerful sound of the traditional tapan and gaida. Dancing on the glowing embers fills the audience with strong energy, unites everyone in a shared experience and connects them directly to the roots of Bulgarian tradition.

This lecture opens the door to the mysterious world of Bulgarian folk mythology and its best-known characters. Through captivating storytelling, participants discover the tales of samodivi (forest nymphs), zmeys (dragons), karakondzhuls (night demons) and orisnitsi (the Fates), as well as their role in folk beliefs.

We present the traditional Bulgarian wedding through an interactive recreation of ancient customs. Participants take part directly in the wedding preparations: they perform the ritual of preparing the wedding bread (sifting the flour through rings and kneading the dough), make the wedding banner (bayrak), and craft a flower wreath for the bride.

The program continues with the symbolic braiding of the bride’s hair and covering her head with a scarf, as well as the traditional rituals with the matron of honor (kuma) and the mother-in-law (bows and the exchange of gifts). At the end, everyone exchanges posies, and the celebration can grow into a full “Bulgarian evening” with folk music, traditional dishes and dancing.
